Winter Harbor Music Festival
making music 'side by side' with world class musicians!
August 10-17, 2014

Welcome to the 6th annual Winter Harbor Music Festival, located in a spectacular setting at the 'Downeast' tip of the Schoodic Penninsula in the northern section of Acadia National Park, where the pounding surf meets the rockbound coast of Maine.

The quaint fishing village of Winter Harbor is a relaxed vacation spot drawing knowledgeable tourists from around the world who want to experience 'Maine the way it should be'. Views of Mount Desert Island and the open ocean, hiking trails, the Grindstone Neck golf course and opportunities for whale watching and sea kayaking are some of the reasons why people return to this unspoiled section of Acadia, year after year.

Our week-long Music Festival offers intrumentalists and singers a unique opportunity to studyand perform with artist faculty, as solo, chamber and choral musicians. Participants work with internationally acclaimed artists and teachers, in ensemble coaching sessions, master classes and choral-orchestral rehearsals. Private lessons are available as well by separate arrangement with faculty.

Instrumentalists and singers have daily chamber music coaching. All participants are offered performance opportunities, with distinguished faculty, in historic Hammond Hall, on Main Street in Winter Harbor,at Oceanside Meadows Inn in Prospect Harbor and during musical evening soirees at Point Alva, our festival home in Gouldsboro.

Our special events include the annual Winter Harbor Music Festival Summer Sing. The Sing, which is open to choral singers and listeners from the wider musical community, will take place on Friday, August 15th at 7:30pm at Hammond Hall.
